93% of nurses vote for A&E strike
Nurses have voted by an overwhelming majority in favour of strike action at accident and emergency departments in hospitals across the country.
A ballot of INO nurses has returned a poll of 93% in favour of pressing ahead with industrial action in two weeks time.
Meanwhile, the Health Service Employer’s Agency is asking both nursing unions to defer their strike action pending talks that are due to take place on Thursday.
INO General Secretary Liam Doran has said the strike will go ahead unless immediate action is taken to resolve the serious difficulties at accident and emergency departments.
