Hunt continues for missing disco boy

Hundreds of police officers and volunteers were today continuing the search for missing Northern Ireland teenager Brendan Rushe, one week after he was last seen leaving a disco.

The hunt resumed after search attempts over the weekend failed to find the Co Tyrone boy, who vanished after a visit with friends to Donegal town.

Despite support from locals and people from the 15-year-old’s home town of Castlederg, it is understood that the search could be scaled down by the middle of the week.

If the schoolboy is still not found by the end of the week a review will be undertaken of the operation.

Last night questionnaires were distributed to people in Donegal in a bid to jog memories about the teenager, who was on half-term from the Christian Brothers school in Omagh at the time of his disappearance.

Over the weekend about 300 volunteers joined police to search the Co Donegal coastline, as the previously atrocious weather eased.

At Murvagh beach, friends of Brendan and the Rushe family combed the sands looking for any clues to his whereabouts and two sniffer dog teams continued their hunt.

Brendan is 5ft 8in tall, of slim build and has dark brown short hair andbrown eyes. He has braces on his teeth. He was wearing a cream shirt, grey trousers and black shoes and had a black jumper with him when he went missing.
