The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has said Ireland’s joint bid to host the 2008 European Championships will only go ahead if the country can meet certain criteria.

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has said Ireland’s joint bid to host the 2008 European Championships will only go ahead if the country can meet certain criteria.

Mr Ahern said Irish officials are working hard to ensure the bid, which has already been agreed between the FAI and the Scottish FA, gets off the ground.
