Labour lashes O'Donoghue as inquiry approved
Labour has called on the Minister for Justice to explain the delay in the establishment of an inquiry into the McBrearty case in Co Donegal.
The cabinet formally gave approval to the probe into alleged Garda corruption this afternoon after several years campaigning by the McBrearty family, who claim they were subjected to years of harassment by gardai.
Labour's Brendan Howlin said questions must be asked as to why the Minister had at first ruled out the inquiry as 'inappropriate' and has now changed his mind.
