SIPTU seeks increased fines for failure to provide safety statement

SIPTU has urged the Government to increase fines handed down to companies which fail to post safety statements in the workplace.

The current fine is €3,175 for a category-one offence, but SIPTU wants it increased after a construction firm was fined €127,000 last year for failing to provide a safety statement.
