Taoiseach: Lawlor 'brought Dail into disrepute'

Bertie Ahern today accused embattled TD Liam Lawlor of bringing the Dail into disrepute by refusing the cooperate with the Flood Tribunal.

Speaking at the beginning of a debate on a motion calling for Mr Lawlor’s resignation, Mr Ahern said: "In this republic, nobody is above or below the law. Every citizen is accountable and when that citizen holds public office, there’s an additional onus to lead by example.
