23-year-old shot dead in Tallaght

A 23-year-old man has been shot dead in an apparent gangland execution in Dublin.

The victim, who has not been named, was shot several times as he came out of his house in Belgard Heights in Tallaght at around 9.10am.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at Tallaght Hospital. Gardai are now searching for two men who fled the scene on a motorbike.

They are also looking for a van with false number plates which was parked near the scene at the time of the shooting.
