Govt plans teacher recruitment drive

Education Minister Michael Woods has announced plans to hire an extra 400 second-level teachers to improve the teacher-to-pupil ratio in Irish schools.

The move follows the publication of a report urging the Government to employ 1,200 new teachers to reduce class sizes.
