Harney and PDs to discuss proposed referendum

The Tainaiste, Mary Harney, says that she and her colleagues within the Progressive Democrat Party will hold a meeting this week to discuss the up-coming abortion referendum.

A recent opinion poll showed that at least 34% of the electorate were against the holding of the referendum.

Ms Harney says that she has not ruled out the possibility of asking the Taoiseach to call the referendum off.

Ms Harney also says in relation to the proposed national stadium that she wants a full cost report to be published before she will give the project the go-ahead.
