There has been a petrol bomb attack on a house in the Serpentine Road area of Belfast during the early hours.

Several devices were thrown at the house causing scorch damage, while a family car in the drive was gutted.

The occupants of the house escaped injury.

Meanwhile, British army technical experts were called to the scene of a suspect device discovered at the back of a pub on Main Street in Limavady, Co Derry.

They have declared the incident as an elaborate hoax.

A controlled explosion was carried out after the premises were evacuated.
