IMPACT has suspended its three-day-old strike action at residential homes for people with intellectual disabilities.

IMPACT has suspended its three-day-old strike action at residential homes for people with intellectual disabilities.

In a statement released this afternoon, the union said it decided to suspend the strike after health service employers acknowledged the legitimacy of their pay claim.

IMPACT members began their strike on Monday because workers in residential childcare centres were receiving significantly higher salaries than those in homes for the intellectually disabled, despite the historical pay parity between both sectors.
