Victims protest at child abuse commission
There have been angry exchanges at today's sitting of the LaFoy Commission investigating child abuse allegations.
The Commission is inquiring into the use of children in institutions as guinea pigs for diphtheria, whooping cough and tetanus vaccines between 1940 and 1987.
Today, proceedings were disrupted when victims stood up at the back of the room and vociferously insisted that they would not have legal representation from the State foisted upon them.
They said they had been "muzzled" by the State for too long and wanted their own legal representatives.
Justice Mary LaFoy said she would consider the request.
