Sinn Fein MPs to get three offices at Westminster
Sinn Fein MPs are to get three offices at the House of Commons, it has been confirmed.
A spokesman for the party said today that both Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness would get their own offices, while Pat Doherty and Michelle Gildernew would have to share one as a temporary arrangement.
The four representatives were granted the offices in December after a vote to allow them use of facilities at the House was carried.
Previously, Sinn Fein MPs had not been given offices because of their refusal to swear the oath of allegiance to the Queen. Both Adams and McGuinness will meet British PM Tony Blair at Downing St later today to discuss recent paramilitary violence.
