One man dead following house fire

A middle-aged man died in a house fire in Westport in Co. Mayo, last night.

The 34-year-old lost his life in the blaze in the outskirts of Westport at Monomor on Lodge Road.

The incident happened at around 9pm.

The gardai will not release any more information until the man’s relatives are being informed of his tragic death.
