FG deputy blames Government for car insurance hike
Fine Gael's Denis Naughten T.D, has strongly criticised the Government’s inaction on implementing the road safety strategy which he claims is allowing the cost of car insurance to rise by up to 50 percent.
The Roscommon/Longford Deputy said the Government strategy to reduce fatal accidents by 20 per cent before the end of 2002 is up to two years behind strategy and as a result the motor industry is increasing premiums.
