Questions raised about gynaecologist Ledward's death

British authorities have launched an investigation into claims a disgraced gynaecologist may have faked his own death to escape accusations of sexual assaults.

Rodney Ledward, formerly of Kent, was reported to have died last year in Ireland.

Police say there have been at least two confirmed sightings of Ledward since, one in Ireland and one in Spain, and this has raised a question mark over his death certificate.

British authorities have sought the help of the gardaí to solve the matter.
