Man shot dead in Dublin last night

A man has been shot dead in west Dublin. A man, who gardai say was in his early twenties, was killed at a house on St Mark's Avenue in the Ronanstown area of Clondalkin at around 1am.

A man, in his early twenties, was killed at a house on St Mark's Avenue in the Ronanstown area of Clondalkin at around 1am.

The victim was rushed to Tallaght Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The circumstances around the shooting are still unclear and no motive has been established at this stage.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination and the State Pathologist is expected to carry out a post mortem later today.
