A new survey has found that the majority of victims, who fail to report crimes, do not contact the gardai because they have no confidence in their perpetrators being caught.

The figures compiled in Dublin on behalf of Fine Gael, found that 93% of those surveyed were afraid to walk through Dublin city centre at night, and the majority had no faith in the gardai or the courts.
