Robinson urges Ireland to be part of Afghanistan peacekeeping force

The UN Commissioner for Human Rights, Mary Robinson, is urging the Government to commit troops to a peacekeeping force in Afghanistan.

Mrs Robinson’s comments come as arguments rage in Europe over whether the EU should send a multi-national task force to police the war-torn country.
