Ireland to be sued over non-reduction in greenhouse gases

The European Commission is to sue Ireland for failing to tackle the problem of toxic car fumes.

The move follows a decision earlier this week to take the State to court over the disposal of toxic waste.

The Commission says Ireland has repeatedly reneged on its commitments to monitor and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
