Three Irishmen appeared in court in London today in connection with an alleged plot to smuggle weapons from Slovakia for the Real IRA.

Declan Rafferty, 39, 41-year-old Fintan O’Farrell and 42-year-old Michael McDonald, from Carlingford and Dundalk in Co Louth, are facing six charged of membership of an illegal organisation and attempting to buy explosives and arms.
