The High Court has extended an injunction preventing the National Lottery from paying out half of last Saturday’s £3.3m Lotto jackpot.

The injunction was sought by George and Patricia Murray, from Naas in Co Kildare, who claim they are the rightful winners of half the jackpot.

The couple claimed that the numbers drawn were the same numbers they have been doing for years, but a shop accidentally gave them a "quick-pick" instead of their usual numbers last week.

The injunction was extended until January 11.
