2002 not looking good for the construction industry
The outlook for 2002 is not good for the construction industry, according to the Construction Industry Federation.
The downturn is due to a number of adverse developments this year.
The construction industry is asking the Government to allow investors back into the property market, to boost the sector.
The Federation also wants a review of taxation and expenditure policies to encourage growth and a reduction of stamp duty on residential transactions.
CIF Director Don O’Sullivan said the importance of the industry should not be underestimated and changes need to be made if the industry is to be saved.
