Tanaiste to intervene in sugar beet price dispute

The Tanaiste, Mary Harney, and Agriculture Minister Joe Walsh will hold separate meetings with the Irish Farmers Association and Greencore today in an attempt to resolve the three-week old sugar beet dispute.

The Government and the disputing parties will discuss a report written by Government mediator Paddy Teahon, who chaired four days of negotiations last week.
