The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission was tonight taken to task for failing to include the concept of parity of esteem in its new Bill of Rights for Northern Ireland.

Sinn Fein human rights spokesman Pat McNamee welcomed some aspects of the proposed Bill but claimed the failure to include parity of esteem in the document was ‘‘a serious omission.
