A Dublin man who sexually abused his two daughters has been jailed for five years in the Circuit Criminal Court.

The father of four, 62, from Clondalkin, pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual assault and one of indecent assault on his daughters between 1990 and 1995.

An offer of £20,000 compensation over a number of years has been made by the man.

Judge Dominic Lynch said he was taking into account the man’s guilty plea and the state of diminished responsibility he had been in as a result of a head injury sustained one year before the abuse began.
