The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has ruled out an independent public inquiry into allegations of severe garda corruption in the Donegal division.

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has ruled out an independent public inquiry into allegations of severe garda corruption in the Donegal division.

Mr Ahern said several civil and criminal proceedings regarding the matter are ongoing and the only way a tribunal could be established is if these proceedings are struck out.
