Investigation launched into averted rail crash

Iarnrod Eireann has launched an inquiry into a narrowly averted train crash on the Dublin to Rosslare line last Thursday.

Two runaway locomotives with nobody at the controls broke away from Arklow Station in the direction of Rathdrum at the same time as a passenger train from Dublin to Rosslare was leaving the Co Wicklow station.
