Michael Lowry has denied trying to mislead the Dail when he told it in December 1996 that if he wanted to hide money he would have lodged it in an offshore bank account.

Mr Lowry made the statement after he was accused of trying to cover up money he received from Ben Dunne by using it to build an extension to his Co Tipperary home.
