SF ard comhairle to meet in Co Meath
The Sinn Fein Ard Comhairle will meet in Navan, Co Meath later today to discuss the future of the peace process following the IRA’s historic decision to begin decommissioning.
This decision was taken by a small group of IRA and Sinn Fein leaders, who must now explain the move to the republican movement’s grassroots supporters.
There are reports from throughout Ireland that the rank and file have concerns about last week’s arms gesture.
The anger is most noticeable in north Belfast, where nationalists come under nightly attack from loyalists, and in south Armagh, where republicans regard the British Government’s demilitarisation plans as inadequate.
