Security scare for President

President Mary McAleese has been at the centre of a minor security scare in Kenya during her ten-day tour.

One of the planes that has been hired to transport the presidential party was grounded after it was broken into and the equipment was tampered with.

Officials are playing down the scare after a full-scale security sweep involving sniffer dogs was carried out and the trip’s schedule was not altered.
