Trimble’s First Minister bid doomed, says DUP
Hard-line Democratic Unionists were tonight preparing for new Northern Ireland Assembly elections after predicting that David Trimble’s bid to be restored as First Minister is doomed.
The Ulster Unionist leader faces a crucial vote later this week as he seeks to regain his old job at the head of the Province’s power-sharing regime following a start to IRA disarmament.
