Man refused bail over anthrax scare
A 20-year-old man was refused bail today after being convicted of placing a container of white powder in the Youthreach organisation’s offices in Arklow, Co Wicklow, last week.
William Douglas, from Arklow, pleaded guilty to causing a public mischief at Gorey District Court today.
The court heard that Mr Douglas, who was arrested last Tuesday, is a gullible young man with a very low intellect.
He was remanded in custody for a week to await sentencing.
