The arrest and detention of Colm Murphy, the only man charged in connection with the Omagh bombing, was based on a sound legal grounding, Dublin’s Special Criminal Court ruled today.

The ruling came after several days of legal argument in which Murphy’s defence argued detectives had no justification to arrest and hold the 49-year-old father of four.
