Martin says suicide is not grounds for abortion

Health Minister Micheal Martin has told the Dail that the Government firmly believes abortion should not be allowed if the expecting mother is suicidal over her pregnancy.

The minister said he and his colleagues believe abortion should only be allowed when the mother’s life is at risk from "a medical condition".
