The Court of Criminal Appeal has refused to change sentences handed down to two of the killers of Detective Garda Jerry McCabe.

The Court of Criminal Appeal has refused to change sentences handed down to two of the killers of Detective Garda Jerry McCabe.

The DPP appealed the 14-year sentence handed down to Pearse McAuley, originally from Strabane, Co Tyrone, and Kevin Walsh of Patrickswell, Co. Limerick, for the manslaughter of Det McCabe.

Detective McCabe was shot dead during a botched raid on Adare post office in 1996.
