Workplace accidents on the rise

Minister for State, Tom Kitt, launches European Safety week today with new figures that accidents in the workplace are on the rise.

There have been 54 deaths in work-related incidents this year already.

The highest number of workplace fatalities are recorded in the Agriculture and Construction sectors.

22 deaths can be attributed to the Agriculture Industry while 17 deaths were connected to Construction accidents.

The new report is an effort to highlight the problem and improve safety standards.
