The Revenue Commissioners tonight issued a "stern warning" to holders of bogus non-resident bank accounts to meet a deadline set for next month to avoid paying extra penalties.

The holders of the false accounts - opened in the names of allegedly non-Irish residents to avoid paying tax on interest - have until November 15 to voluntarily disclose them to the Revenue Commissioners and meet the tax obligations that are due.
