Quinn concerned about delay in Ned O’Keefe hearing

Labour Party leader Ruairi Quinn has said he is concerned about the Public Offices Commission’s delay in hearing a complaint against Fianna Fail TD Ned O’Keefe.

Labour Party leader Ruairi Quinn has said he is concerned about the Public Offices Commission’s delay in hearing a complaint against Fianna Fail TD Ned O’Keefe.

Mr O’Keefe was forced to resign as Junior Agriculture Minister when it emerged that he failed to declare a beneficial interest during a Dail debate last year.

Mr O’Keefe opposed a Labour motion calling for a ban on feeding bonemeal to animals but failed to disclose that his Co Cork pig farm has a licence to feed such meal.

Mr Quinn believes the 10-month delay in hearing the complaints has undermined public confidence in the Public Offices Commission.
