Ulster Unionist leader David Trimble is to appeal to the House of Lords in Britain after the Belfast High Court today upheld a ruling that said he acted illegally in banning Sinn Fein from attending cross-border meetings.

Ulster Unionist leader David Trimble is to appeal to the House of Lords in Britain after the Belfast High Court today upheld a ruling that said he acted illegally in banning Sinn Fein from attending cross-border meetings.

Mr Trimble had refused to nominate Education Minister Martin McGuinness and Health Minister Bairbre de Brun to meetings of the North-South Ministerial Council because of the IRA’s failure to disarm.
