'Govt responsible for one-fifth of road deaths'

Fine Gael has said government inaction is responsible for up to 20% of Irish road deaths.

Party spokesman Denis Naughten said the promised increase in garda resources hasn’t materialised, new legislation promised three years ago has still not been implemented and the much-lauded penalty-points system is still only at the draft stage.
