The Minister for Tourism, Jim McDaid, has warned that up to 150,000 American tourists may cancel their trips to Ireland in the wake of the terror attacks in Washington and New York.

The minister was speaking in Dublin, where he gave his assessment on the potential damage the US terrorism attacks might have on the Irish tourism industry.

Minister McDaid also supported calls for financial aid for Aer Lingus.
