EU asked to relax airline funds ban

As the Aer Lingus crisis deepens, Ireland is stepping up the pressure on the European Union to relax its ban on state aid for airlines.

Up to 1,700 jobs are at risk at the national carrier as Aer Lingus cuts its operations by 25% because of the US situation.
