Missing woman's body washes ashore in Sligo

The body of a woman who has been missing in Sligo since yesterday evening has washed ashore on Coney Island in Sligo Bay.

The woman, who was in her early 20s and from Strandhill, was reported missing when her dog returned home without her yesterday.

Her body was found lying on the water’s edge at around 9.30am.

A post mortem will be carried out later today.
