Houses evacuated during Sligo bomb alert

Around 30 houses were evacuated in Sligo town last night after Gardai received a telephone warning that a device had been planted in the town.

The caller said a bomb was left in Northern-registered car.

Bomb disposal experts were called to carry out a search, but no device was found.
