Three Dublin men arrested over alleged Canaries rape
Three Dublin men have been arrested in the Canary Islands on charges of the alleged rape of a British tourist.
The three, two of whom are 19-years-old, with the remaining man aged 20, were on holiday at the resort of Playa de las Americas on the south coast of Tenerife.
They were arrested in the early hours of Sunday after a teenage girl from Britain was allegedly raped in the garden of an apartment block. She had earlier been with the three men and another girl at a drinks party.
In Spain, people arrested are normally kept in custody until they have been questioned by a magistrate in chambers. The examining judge then decides whether the accused should be held or given bail while investigations continue.
