GAA to give priority to new RUC reform proposals
The GAA has said it is giving priority to studying the revised plans for reforming policing in the North.
The association said it has requested a copy of the revised proposals on policing and will examine the document carefully.
It has pledged to review Rule 21, its ban on members of the RUC joining its ranks, but said it recognises that certain difficulties still exist.
The rule was almost deleted at last year's annual Congress, but just fell short of the two thirds majority required.
However, a commitment has been given to delete it, once effective steps are taken to implement amended policing arrangements.
