Iarnrod Eireann is considering reopening disused sections of regional rail networks as part of plans to expand commuter services, according to reports today.

It is said Public Enterprise Minister Mary O’Rourke has ordered a study into the feasibility of resurrecting railways which were abandoned in the 1960s and 1970s.
