Jobs boost announced for Belfast call centre
An insurance company is to employ another 100 staff at its call centre in west Belfast, it announced today.
Insurance Advisory Service confirmed the expansion as it marked its first year at Springvale Business Park.
The company, which already employs 227 people at Springvale, hopes to have the new workers in place by the end of the year.
IAS is a part of Belgium’s Fortis International financial group and already employs 600 people UK-wide selling insurance.
David Holden, managing director of IAS, said: ‘‘We’ve been thoroughly impressed by the quality of staff already recruited.
’’Many have taken advantage of the excellent promotion opportunities to progress to management positions resulting from the expansion that has taken place during the past year.
’’The support which we have received from the community, together with the encouragement from the Industrial Development Board, has resulted in the business moving faster than originally projected.’’
