Dublin joins Hiroshima commemorations

Commemorations are being held across the globe to remember the 56th

anniversary of the atomic bomb attack on Hiroshima, Japan.

In Dublin, the Lord Mayor will join anti-nuclear protesters for a ceremony in the park at Merrion Square. Young people will participate in a wreath laying ceremony.

Leading figures in Irish CND will use the occasion to call on the Government

to use its seat at the UN Security Council to secure a reduction in the number of nuclear weapons.
